Asia’s Top Insurance Employers Ranked for Workers

Insurance professionals across Asia have identified the best insurance companies to work for in Asia by focusing on core benefits such as medical coverage, flexible work arrangements, and paid leave, rather than flashy perks.

What employees value most

Survey respondents rated benefits on a scale of 1 to 5, and the top scores consistently went to medical insurance, flexible schedules, and vacation time. The WTW 2025 Global Medical Trends Survey predicts a 12.3% increase in medical costs for the Asia‑Pacific region, making health coverage the most prized employee perk.

In Hong Kong and Japan, paid time off topped the list, while Indian workers placed the greatest emphasis on work‑life balance programs. China, the Philippines and Singapore showed a similar pattern, ranking paid leave and balance initiatives among the top three benefits.

Flexible work has shifted from a perk to a standard expectation. Data from 2024 indicates that 73% of employees said flexible hours drive satisfaction, and more than half would stay longer if hybrid or remote options were available.

Employer responses and gaps

Companies featured in the latest ranking have begun to move beyond pay as a transactional lever. They blend fair compensation with security‑focused benefits, such as robust medical plans.

Despite these efforts, a gap remains. A joint study by Reeracoen Group and Rakuten Insight Global found that while 72% of APAC employees want hybrid work, only 46% actually have access. Singapore leads the region with 68% of firms providing hybrid options, followed by Vietnam (65%), India (61%) and Indonesia (59%). South Korea and Japan lag at just 33%.

The emphasis on core benefits reflects a broader shift toward pragmatism in the sector. As insurance firms grapple with digital transformation and regulatory change, they recognize that tangible, employee‑centric policies secure loyalty more effectively than abstract purpose‑driven programs.

Providing essential protections—particularly medical coverage, flexible work and adequate paid leave—will likely remain the cornerstone of any employer aiming to be among the best insurance companies to work for in Asia.
